National has posted the Historical Merit Badges. A details  can be found on the national scouting.org site. The merit badges being offered are:

• Carpentry
• Pathfinding
• Signaling
• Tracking

A few highlights:

• Merit badges do count for rank advancement
• There will not be printed merit badge books in Scout Shops. Books and requirements are online.
• Must be completed by December 31, 2010. Merit badges are effective April 1, 2010.
• Counselors must register with District Advancement (who will forward to Council)
